Spaces are Filling Up!

The response to this event has been overwhelming to say the least! We have just 7 Full Paper Arts A Thon spaces and 2 Half spaces left. Donations, offers of assistance and support have been rolling in. There is now a total of NINE paper artists coming from New Brunswick.

We have applied for lottery numbers and as soon as the numbers come in we will be selling tickets on our Raffle Items. We have a 'Hot Stone Massage' Raffle Basket added to our list. If anyone is interested in selling tickets please Email me and as soon as the lottery numbers come in I will get the tickets to you.

Paper Arts A Thon is Well Underway!

With nearly half the spaces filled this event is well underway. Our commitee of four met last evening to go over what has been happening and to fine tune our plans.

1. We have decided to do a few 'Half Paper Arts A Thon' spaces for those who might find it difficult to stay the full 24 hours. We only have 4 spaces available and it will be first come first serve. (After the 4 your name will go on a waiting list). You will start at 10:00 am Saturday and go to 10:00 pm that evening. Your name will go in the draws that are during that time frame.

2. There are spaces for 40 full Paper Arts A Thon particpants and we are at the halfway mark for these.

3. All meals, snacks, drinks are included. Not to worry ladies, you will not leave this event, hungry or thirsty!

4. During the day we will have several Make 'N Take projects available for you to do. The materials for these projects will be donated and so we are asking that if you wish to do these Make 'N Takes you will make a donation toward them, with all proceeds going to the Arthritis Society.

5. Each particpant will receive a 'Goodie Bag' AND your name will be placed in, not a hat but a decorated Paint Can, for HOURLY Draws!

6. Several 'Raffles' will soon be under way. (As soon as we get our lottery numbers.) The draws for these items will take place on the 27th May before we leave the Fire Hall. Some of the items to be raffled are:

Stampin' Up! Goodie Basket- hodge podge hardware kit, set of stamps, Itty Bitty Book, 12x12 patterned paper, 12x12 cardstock, etc. Valued at $150.+

'Color Challenge Book' by Karen-an ATC album decorated and with many SCS colr challenges in side (I will post a link to this later)

'Paper Tole Print' by Pam- her prints are AWESOME!!!

These are a few of the raffle items and more will be added as details come in.

7. At the Paper Arts A Thon there will be several OTHER raffle baskets available for you to purchase tickets on. These tickets will only be available to the 44 particpants.

8. IMPORTANT: These are the things you will NEED to bring! A rested body! A willingness to HAVE the BEST TIME with your FRIENDS! Supplies to work on the projects of your choice- don't forget glue, adhesives!! You will want to bring 'change' to participate in the Make N Takes and the Raffles.

9. Oh my! I have left the Best information to the last! You will each have ONE TABLE measuring 30 inches by 6 feet to do your paper art of choice!

So if you have NOT registered be sure to do so today. Just click on any of the three names in the post at the bottom of this page. This will take you to our email. WE will then email you a Registration Form, a Pledge Sheet and an Information Sheet. You can fill out the Registration Form and email it back to us.

A little more news! I have talked Holly into setting up a Blog so we can follow her and her husband's progress on their training for the 'Joints in Motion' marathon. So please stop in and say 'Hi' to Holly and Terry. They will need all the support they can get.

Paper Arts A Thon Fund Raising Event
May 26th & 27th, 2007
Kingston Fire Hall
Sparky Street, Kingston, Nova Scotia

Paper Arts A Thon evolved as a way to help Terry and Holly Hearn raise funds needed ($8000.) to enter the ‘Joints In Motion’ marathon in 2008. For more information visit the Arthritis Society
Their daughter Kristen, aged twenty-two, was recently diagnosed with Arthritis and Terry and Holly are, as they put it, trying to turn a ‘bad thing into something good’.

The Paper Arts A Thon is a 24-hour Scrapbooking, Card Making, Paper Toling (and any other hobby using paper) event that is a way to use the hobbies we love to benefit others. (We hope to make this an annual event with different charities each year.)

There is no admission fee to attend this event. The fundraising will take place through pledge sheets. Each participant will receive a pledge sheet, which will be turned in (along with funds raised) the day of registration. Registration will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, the 26th May and the 24-hour event will start at 10:00 am and continue until 10:00 am Sunday, May 27th, 2007.

All meals and snacks will be provided. The only things you will need to bring are your supplies for the hobby of your choice.

The 24 hours will include: ample space for you to work on your hobby, a chance to be with new friends and old, lots of make and take projects you can do, food and more food, and prizes, prizes, prizes! And a few surprises!
